Wellzy ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users. This Privacy Policy describes what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and your rights regarding your personal data when you use the Wellzy mobile application.

            By using Wellzy, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you
            do not agree to this policy, please do not use the App.
        

1. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to provide our health and nutrition tracking features:

2. Device Permissions We Request

Camera — Used exclusively to scan product barcodes in the barcode scanning screen. We do not record, store, or transmit camera images.
Storage / Media Access — Requested only when you choose to upload a profile photo from your device gallery.
Notifications — Used to send scheduled meal reminders and hydration alerts that you configure in the app settings. You can disable notifications at any time from your device settings.
Internet — Required to communicate with Firebase (authentication, database) and to search for food nutritional data from an external nutritional database API.

3. How We Use Your Information

To create and manage your user account.
To display your personal nutrition goals, daily summaries, and health progress charts.
To calculate streak days, achievement badges, and activity metrics.
To generate personalized health insights in the My Health section.
To send local push notifications for reminders that you have personally scheduled.
To improve app stability (crash analytics via Firebase).

4. Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following third-party SDKs and APIs, each of which has its own privacy policy:

Google Firebase Authentication — Manages user login and session management.
Google Cloud Firestore — Stores all user health and nutrition data securely in the cloud.
Google Sign-In — Used for authentication via your Google account.
Open Food Facts / Nutritionix API — Used for searching nutritional information of food products by name or barcode. Queries are sent as anonymous searches; no personally identifiable data is shared.

5. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Google Cloud Firestore, which employs enterprise-grade security including AES-256 encryption at rest and TLS encryption in transit.

On your device, scan history and user preferences are stored in your device's local storage (SharedPreferences). Authentication tokens are stored in encrypted secure storage (FlutterSecureStorage).

While we take commercially reasonable security measures to protect your data, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your data stored in Firestore will be deleted permanently and immediately upon account deletion confirmation.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data via the Edit Profile screen in the app.
Delete your account and all associated data by contacting us at wellzy.fit@gmail.com.
Opt out of push notifications at any time from your device notification settings.

8. Children's Privacy

Wellzy is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it immediately.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
